New TheatreRUN workshop with Adam Paolozza April 28, 29, 30!

TheatreRUN presents…

Introduction to Lecoq Training

Curious about the Lecoq School? Ever wondered how their training works?

Modeled after the format of the Lecoq school, this unique, three-day workshop offers students an intensive introduction to Lecoq-based training.

During each session we will focus on three areas:

Physical training: The focus here is The Moving Body. Using physical exercises and exploring Mime-based technique students will improve rhythm, balance and develop powerful tools for gestural expression.

Neutral Mask: The corner stone of Lecoq training, the leather neutral mask, designed by Amleto Sartori, provokes students to discover a large, theatrical presence that is balanced, centred and focused while expressing powerful, authentic emotions on stage. With the mask student’s also become aware of personal physical habits that block the creative process.

Improvisation: The Body in Play. Student’s will develop their acting muscles through various games and improvisations drawn from Commedia dell’arte, Clown, Tragedy and Melodrama.

The Lecoq pedagogy explores the powerful link between emotion, expression and movement.

“Everything Moves” says Lecoq.

This is a unique opportunity for performers, directors, writers or choreographers of all skill levels, who are interested discovering the underlying laws of theatre and how it uses the body, gesture and the theatrical space to express passion.
