Being Funny Workshop December 1-3

<!–

with renowned instructor Adam Paolozza

Why do we laugh? What makes us? How does it happen?
…Based on the work of famed teacher Jacques Lecoq, this theatre workshop explores clown, physical comedy and the fine art of making people laugh. Over the three days we will use games, exercises and improvisations to explore:

  • le jeu (comic play)
  • the clown
  • using space and rhythm to create characters and situations
  • the imposition of rules and the joy at breaking them
  • comic acrobatics (prat-falls, hat tricks, working with funny objects etc.)
  • finding the comic in the everyday situation

This workshop is designed for performers of all disciplines who wish to create their own work, improve their presence, timing, balance and find the pleasure of playing in front of an audience. It is for those who wish to take a risk, be vulnerable and open themselves to the moment.
