ON THE ROAD THIS MONTH: Spent IN INDIA and Artaud IN CHINA
SPENT in India
@ the Lit.Live! Festival in Mumbai
Earlier this month Spent played to an excited audience of 800 at the NCPA in Mumbai to close off the 2nd annual Lit.Live! Festival.
We had the honour to share the stage with many great Indian writers, such as Vikram Seth, and many thanks go out to the Canadian Government, QTP theatre productions (our amazing tech team in India) and Anil Dharker, festival director, for making it all happen.
TheatreRUN’s Artaud in China
November 29-30 @ The Shanghai Dramatic Arts Centre
Our critically-acclaimed, French-language production about the life and madness of Antonin Artaud has been selected to play at the Shanghai Dramatic Arts Cenre’s ACT International Theatre Festival.
Praise for Artaud:
“Intimate…beautiful…the kind of work we want to see more of in Toronto.” – Sophie Perceval, TFO – Radio Canada
Adam Paolozza will also be appearing in Theatre Smith-Gilmour’s Lu Xun Blossoms (a hit at last year’s Luminato Festival), also in the festival.

COMING SOON: THE DOUBLE @ FACTORY STUDIO THEATRE
Dostoevsky, mime and double bass…
TheatreRUN’s latest original creation, The Double, will be debuting at the Factory Studio Theatre in February 2012.
Music, Mime and Madness collide in a schizophrenic feast of music and images in our new adaptation of Dostoevsky’s classic novella about a man driven mad by the appearance of his doppelganger.
The Double is created in collaboration with Arif Mirabdolbaghi, bassist from the award winning Canadian band Protest The Hero.
Produced with the generous support of the Toronto Arts Council and The Ontario Arts Council
Spent nominated for Critics Award in Ottawa
We are pleased to announce Spent has been nominated for a Capital Critic’s Circle award for Best Production in Ottawa after our sold-out run at the Undercurrents Festival last February.
Thanks to Alvina Ruprecht and Patrick Gauthier!
Adam Paolozza receives Theatre Ontario Grant
We are also proud to announce that Adam Paolozza is a recipient of the Theatre Ontario Professional Development bursary.
He will mentor with Leah Cherniak on two separate projects in 2012
Thanks to Tim Chapman and everyone at Theatre Ontario.
